Please note that I can only ship on week-ends. This is likely one of the last White amps produced before the introduction of Blackface cosmetics in late '63 and the serial number is a very low AS00698ĭon't hesitate to contact me if you have questions. Cosmetically, the amp is solid, with some expected light wear around the edges of the cabinet and on the leather handle, and also some small stains on the oxblood grill cloth. Yep, the Fender Mustang LT25 does use a budget speaker, but never-the-less. The dimensions are 2.75 by 8.25 by 14.5 inches, and it uses a single 8-inch speaker to drive its 25 watts of output power. Even the original two-prong gray power cable is unchanged. At first glance, the amp seems simple and small enough for a regular guitar practice amp, and it is. The leather handle is intact and unbroken. The chassis and face plate are stunningly clean with original knobs and NOS tubes. The original transformers are intact, with a late '61 date code on the output transformer and early '62 date on the power transformer. When you dime the amp out, the overdrive is that Fender tweed tone heard on countless recordings the perfect balance of grit, warmth and clarity. The tone is pure, dynamic and nuanced, with glassy cleans at low volumes with your favorite single coil equipped Fender guitar, and plenty of bite and mid range warmth as you turn up the Volume control. Tonally (and unsurprisingly), this amp has all of the sonic qualities of your favorite Tweed Princeton, with an absolutely huge sound for an 8" speaker. The cabinet is adorned with the original mottled pale gray covering and Oxblood grill cloth. Originally paired with a student lap steel, the White ampilfier is identical to a Fender Tweed Princeton, with the exception of the amplifier's cosmetics. The "White-Higher Fidelity" amp is the only amplifier produced by the Fender company not to bear the "Fender" logo, and it was named for Fender's eventual Vice President Forrest White, who was key in naming and marketing some of Fender's most enduring amp designs. The original Oxford needed a recone so speaker was changed to a very nice Weber Alnico Series 1279 (don't have the original Oxford). This Pre-CBS Class A Fender amp is mostly original with the exception of a fresh recap with Sprague Atom filter caps. Up for sale is a crazy rare 1962 Fender White Higher Fidelity amp! The amp is in excellent condition and in perfect working order.
